Shiyo,
My name is Mrs. Saunooke. I graduated from Cherokee High School in 1996. I graduated from Western Carolina University in 2001 and began teaching that fall.
Our class is doing great. We have come a long way this year. We are getting ready to go to the aquarium on April 3,2006. We are studying ocean life and starting on legends in the classroom.
The kids do know how to ask to go to the bathroom, to get help, and for someone to tie their shoes in Cherokee. Please have them practice these phrases at home as much as possible.
April 3,2006
Please have your child at school by 7:45. We will be loading the buses at 8:00 and this will allow time to use the restroom.

The Sacred Path program is a character education program developed to promote caring, responsibility, and respect for self and others while following traditional tribal beliefs. Each grade level meets to discuss issues that need to be addressed within the grade block and the school. Together they determine solutions to any problems that are addressed and work together to solve those problems. Students and teachers work together on the Sacred Path to make the school a safe place to learn.
