Welcome to Our Classroom

We are working very hard to prepare for the North Carolina State writing test. The test will be on Tuesday March 7, 2006. It is very important that all students are present and on time that day. The test will begin soon after the morning announcements.

I am confident that every student will do his or her very best on this test. You can help ensure success by making sure your child goes to bed early Monday night, eats a good breakfast Tuesday morning, and gets to school in plenty of time (to elminate any nervous jitters about being late).

Please continue to encourage your child. I am very proud of every child in this class. They have all worked extremely hard every day to prepare for this test. I will reward them with extra recess Tuesday afternoon if everyone is present and tries his/her best. Wednesday, we will do learning games all day to reward all their effort and hard work. Each child can bring his/her own snack Wednesday.

You will see a lot of test prep materials coming home in the following weeks and months as we prepare for the End of Grade tests. (Example: test magic tests that students have to correct at home) Points will be added to each students grade for each corrected problem on the Test Magic Tests that I send home. If you have any questions , please feel free to call.

Each student wrote a persuasive essay about his/her favorite president and why they felt their president was them most instrumental in American history.

The students essays are on display outside of our classroom on our bulletin board. Please come by and read the students essays. I am very proud of the efforts they made.

We are Keepers of the Little People

The Sacred Path program is a character education program developed to promote caring, responsibility, and respect for self and others while following traditional tribal beliefs. Each grade level meets to discuss issues that need to be addressed within the grade block and the school. Together they determine solutions to any problems that are addressed and work together to solve those problems. Students and teachers work together on the Sacred Path to make the school a safe place to learn.
