Welcome to Our Classroom

Welcome to our class.  We are currently working on teaching all of the students sign language in Mrs. Jones' classroom.  At this time we are learning signs for the spring and Easter.  The students are also enjoying learning and playing sign language games on the computer during their free time.

We are reading a story about a child with a hearing loss and her trip to the doctor for a hearing aide.  I will tell them a little about hearing, give them a simulated hearing loss test and allow each student to listen through a hearing aide.

I also offer a free sign language class every Wednesday from 3:00 til 4:00 in the Library or Nellie Jones' classroom.  Anyone is welcome to join the class at any time.

We are Keepers of the Little People

The Sacred Path program is a character education program developed to promote caring, responsibility, and respect for self and others while following traditional tribal beliefs. Each grade level meets to discuss issues that need to be addressed within the grade block and the school. Together they determine solutions to any problems that are addressed and work together to solve those problems. Students and teachers work together on the Sacred Path to make the school a safe place to learn.

Parent's Corner

Here are some things you can do to help prepare your child for the writing test:

1. When they ask if they can watch TV ask them to give you three good reasons why you should let them watch TV. This will help them work on their pesuasive writing skills.

2. Ensure they good plenty of rest the night before the test.

3. On the day of the test make sure they have a really good breakfast and show up for school prepared with sharpened pencils.
