Description of Services: Hello! My name is Linda Pitter

I have been a Special Education teacher for 24 years,of which 18 of them have been here at Cherokee Elementary School. I have had a Resource Room (k-3), taught a regular first grade for three years, and for the past 8 years have been an Inclusion Teacher in grades 1-3.

What do I mean by Inclusion Teacher?

This means I co-teach with the classroom teacher for part of the day. I usually serve two classrooms, sometimes three. I service all the children and help teachers with modifications and interventions so all children can learn. At the present time I am the Inclusion Teacher for grade two. 

Daily Schedule

This year I spend most of the day coteaching in Mr"sWiggins room.

Referral Information

If you think your child is having difficulty a refererral starts by speaking with the classroom teacher. This starts the process.

Activities to Help Your Child at Home With Reading :

1.Echo Reading-You read a page and your child reads the page after you.

2.Read Along- You read the page as your child reads with you.

3.Partner Read- You read a page and your child reads a page.

4. Read the book to your child.
