The 2008-2009 school year is here and the 1st month of school will be very busy for the physical education program at Cherokee Elementary School. All classes will review classroom rules and "levels". Encouraging our students to be physically active in order to fight diabetes and other health concerns will be one of our top priorities. All activities will be age and developmentally appropriate. We encourage teachers and parents to come participate with their child during PE class!
Fitness Frenzy
Our Fitness Frenzy program promotes fitness after school. All students in grades 3-6 can take one coupn home from P.E. The student participates in physical activity after school for at least 30 minutes, has the coupon signed by their parent and returns it to the drop box in the gym on their next P.E. day. The drop box is emptied at the end of the month and prizes are awarded.
Grades
Grades are based on participation. If your child in absent from P.E., they can not participate and points will be deducted from his grade. We care about your childs health and want them to enjoy being physically active.
Remember :

Parents are always welcome in our gym! We invite you to come and participate or just sit and watch your
