Welcome to First Grade
We are excited about having your child in our classroom. Please access and read the welcome letter to find out what we have planned for the coming year.
We are preparing for end of school tests which will be given the first week in May. We will have an end of test fest on that Thursday after testing.
We will be going to Kituwah Fields for a Cultural Explosion the last Wednesday in April.
Beginning first grade can be very stressful to children. Please help them prepare for first grade by assuring them of their safety and that it will be a wonderful place to learn new things. We will be doing many new and exciting things. We plan exciting, and fun centers and help children learn to use those centers. We hope to make the first grade experience exciting and fun.
The Sacred Path program is a character education program developed to promote caring, responsibility, and respect for self and others while following traditional tribal beliefs. Each grade level meets to discuss issues that need to be addressed within the grade block and the school. Together they determine solutions to any problems that are addressed and work together to solve those problems. Students and teachers work together on the Sacred Path to make the school a safe place to learn.
