The school year is winding down, but we're not done yet! In math we are working on geometry and in reading we will be starting a new book, Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing, by Judy Blume. In science, our class is concluding a unit on animals and will be starting a unit on rocks and minerals. We are also continuing our practice for the End of Grade Testing. Please encourage your child to not wind down, but to continue to do their best.
The children are working really hard to earn play money. The money will be spent at our class auction at the end of the year. They can earn money by having their assignment sheet signed, getting 100's on assignments, and demonstrating good behavior. If you would like to help, items are needed for the auction. Prizes might include; fun pads, small games, sport items, toys, and any other fun things your child might enjoy.
On April 27th, we will be going on a field trip to the Knoxville Zoo. The cost is $6.00 for students. Students may bring extra spending money for the gift shop and for food. We will leave at 8:00 and return at 4:00. Your child will need to be picked up at the school. More details will be sent in a take home notice.

The Sacred Path program is a character education program developed to promote caring, responsibility, and respect for self and others while following traditional tribal beliefs. Each grade level meets to discuss issues that need to be addressed within the grade block and the school. Together they determine solutions to any problems that are addressed and work together to solve those problems. Students and teachers work together on the Sacred Path to make the school a safe place to learn.
Here are some things you can do to help prepare your child for the EOG test:
1. Have your child get into a good book that they can enjoy. Reading takes practice. Also, reading and math homework is always practice for the test.
2. Ensure they get plenty of rest the night before the test.
3. On the day of the test make sure they have a really good breakfast and show up for school prepared with sharpened pencils.
